Introduction to thriller unit....

Before all the process of creating ,filming and editing our short thrillers we had a media lesson based on 'What are thrillers?'

It was said that the reasons for creating a thriller is to build up suspense and create tension between the audience making them thrilled. Thrillers doesn't necessarily need to show blood or gore to accomplish their goals whereas horrors intend to.There have been many thrillers that have been created from the influence of a horror but show diffence by the 'structure of their plots' and how it has been approached.

We were then asked to come of with a few film that we considered to be horrors based on the information the we had previously been give. Some ideas that were shared by the class were
* Mission Impossible
* Jaws

As the ideas were being put on the board by the teacher, i realsied that she was placing them in differnt places . She placed the thrillers in groups according to their sub genres some of which were
*Sci Fi thrillers
*Crime Thrillers
*True stories
*Action Thrillers
*Spy Thrillers
*Psycholigical Thrillers
*Espionage Thrillers
*Horror Thrillers
*Conspiracy Thrillers
*Political Thrillers
*Supernatural Thrillers

The list could go on and on whilst the thriller sub genre list keeps being expanded continuosly.

They most definately had one thing in common; all the of the sub- genres were still had to same intension of creating tension ,exhilaration and anxiety amongst their chosen audience.We then briefly looked at some thrillers and we were asked to put them in the cateregories based on their sub-genres.
